Given the significant importance of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) as an important tool for analyzing the impact of economic policies on the environment and as a guide that helps integrate environmental information with national economic accounts to allow sustainable use and management of natural resources, and since the Arab countries are striving towards achieving sustainable development goals, the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS) and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) organized a four-day regional training workshop on this subject, in cooperation with the United Nations Statistics Division, as well as the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the League of Arab States (LAS).
