This is the first report from the Swedish Government on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The report has been produced in a broad consultation process based on documentation and contributions from a large number of stakeholders in a variety of reference groups. Sweden sees the 2030 Agenda and the global goals, the legally binding climate agreement concluded in Paris in December 2015, the outcome document from the International Conference on Financing for Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda in July 2015, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 as coherent parts of the new global framework for sustainable development. A starting point for Sweden is that the implementation of the 2030 Agenda involves a process of successive transformation and further development of Sweden’s societal model as a modern and sustainable welfare state, nationally and as part of the global system. This process must embrace everyone in Sweden, and no one is to be left behind.
