This study aimed to answer the following questions: What is the reality of childhood in our Arab world? To what extent have Arab countries developed legislative frameworks to protect children? Are there positive trends towards participation (among children, parents, and family members)? What are the dimensions of participation, its different levels and fields? To what extent do basic educational institutions (family and school) play a role in motivating children to participate? Is there a role for civil society and the world's means in this regard? What are the obstacles that the cultural and social context creates, and how can they be overcome in the future?

To answer these questions, the study relied on multiple data and tools. The data on which the study relied included data on the demographic reality of children in the Arab world, data on the legal and institutional status of children, in addition to field data collected through various scientific methods and techniques.
